Florida Reps claim no “need” to own AR-platform rifles

In a full-potato statement pandering to the CSGV folks in Florida, State Sen. Linda Stewart and state Rep. Carlos Guillermo Smith, both Democrats, made the claim that the most popular sporting rifle in firearms history is an “assault weapon”, and as such is a “weapon of war” that has no legitimate reason to be owned by anybody.

After making their statement, they introduced legislation to ban 30 round magazines, parts that bolt on to the rifle that make it “more lethal”, and other nonsense.
