I’ve said it before and will say it again, old folks don’t get old by being pushovers that are scared of their own shadows. Especially a 77-year-young man.
A man shot in the abdomen by a 77-year-old during what authorities called an armed home invasion has been charged with seven felonies.
Jesse Irving, 37, was arraigned Wednesday, Jan. 4, in Jackson County District Court.
He was released from Henry Ford Allegiance Health on Monday and taken to the Jackson County Jail, where he is being held without bond.
The 77-year-old homeowner is not to be charged because the prosecutor deemed his actions against Irving, allegedly armed with a knife and in search of money, were justified. Citizens have a right to use deadly force when they reasonably believe their lives or the lives of others are in danger, Prosecutor Jerry Jarzynka said.
